Using other distributors and leaving Rythora
Non-exclusive distribution, why dual delivery of the same recording is risky, and how takedowns work.
Updated Sep 26, 2026
Is Rythora exclusive?
No. The distribution license in the Distribution Terms is non-exclusive.
You may use other distribution companies for separate releases, subject to each company's own terms.
Can I also put the same recording on TuneCore (or another distributor) at the same time?
Delivering the same recording to the same streaming platforms through multiple distributors often creates:
- Duplicate releases on the same store
- Conflicting ownership or delivery claims
- Royalty reporting problems
Rythora recognizes that artists should understand their options before committing a recording to a distributor. If you already live elsewhere with another distributor, coordinate carefully before delivering the same masters again through Rythora.
How do I remove my music or leave Rythora?
- Open the release in Workstation and request a takedown, or contact support if you need help with account closure.
- Rythora processes the removal request through the delivery pipeline.
- Receiving platforms need time to complete removal. Typical store removal is about 1–2 weeks, but DSP timelines vary.
You may stop using Distribution and request account closure subject to:
- Wind-down of live releases
- Outstanding balances or obligations on the account
- The Distribution Terms and any Distribution Agreement you accepted
Rythora does not claim ownership of your music because you leave. The distribution license continues only as needed for content that remains live and for a commercially reasonable wind-down after takedown or closure.
Are there penalties for leaving?
Requesting a takedown or closing your distribution relationship is part of normal account operations under the Distribution Terms. Processing still depends on:
- DSP / partner completion times
- Outstanding payouts, chargebacks, rights disputes, or compliance holds
- Any active Workstation plan billing (subscription fees are separate from royalty ownership)
Always review Account → Agreement and your plan billing terms for obligations that may survive termination (for example warranties, indemnity, and wind-down of already-delivered content).
